160-unit Housing Development

The Falkland Islands Company – Stage Two

THE BRIEF

For stage two of this major development, The Falkland Islands Company approached Space VR to produce architectural illustrative material for investment procurement purposes to fund a 160-unit residential property development. Five types of build whose structure and distinct appearance was to be sympathetic to the residences already in place on the islands.

THE SOLUTION

We moved away from still imagery for the main part of this project, deciding a more immersive approach would be more effective. That meant we constructed, and fully designed the two- and three-bedroom options in 3D. This was then converted into Virtual Reality so the operator could explore the space wearing a VR headset, or view on a desktop computer bringing cutting edge technology and an unparalleled opportunity to entirely experience an architectural environment.

THE RESULTS

Our client was delighted with the results, we had offered potential buyers a much more realistic understanding of the built environment. There is only so much you can see when looking at still images, or even animations, so having the ability to independently explore the entirety of a home and walk around the entire space, gives a far more immersive personal experience.
