Agricultural Building – South Hetton

THE BRIEF

We were approached to produce CG material of an agricultural building and the local environment for a planning application in a very rural part of North East England. Because of the location, near a public walkway, we were advised the council had requested the building needed to be screened with trees and bushes and this needed to be reflected in our imagery.

THE SOLUTION

We immediately recommended still CG images as we predicted the project was going to need multiple revisit’s due to its sensitivity, making animations and VR a costly delivery to amend. We put forward an idea of having certain views from the perspective of country hikers, so the council would get an accurate visual representation of what would be seen from the footpath. We suggested multiple versions, changing from season to season, as the coverage could dramatically change during the year. It was very important that 3D models of local foliage were used to screen the building as this was an area of South Hetton much loved by walkers and as such the site needed to be as concealed as much as possible.

THE RESULTS

Our client had never worked with CG imagery before and was delighted with the result and the experience, and has opened up their view to incorporate artist impressions in their working practices.
